Building new community housing in Ballarat

Our new housing project in Albert St, Ballarat is located in the heart of town.

The architect-designed building by MGS Architects, includes 24 apartments over four levels, including 17 large one-bedroom apartments and 7 two-bedroom units.

The building will provide accommodation for vulnerable people on the Victorian Housing Register with at least two apartments allocated to First Nations applicants.

The site repurposes underutilised church land and integrates seamlessly into the existing streetscape, surrounded by landscaped gardens and a generous central courtyard for residents to enjoy.

Construction is expected to take 12 months, with completion due late 2026.

There is high demand for housing in the Ballarat region with a rental vacancy rate of 1.34%.

The site is walking distance to most facilities and services including Ballarat train station, central shopping district as well as health, education and support services.

The project is funded by Homes Victoria as part of the Victorian Government’s $5.3 billion Big Housing Build, delivered in partnership with Uniting Vic.Tas and supported by the Housing Australia Future Fund.
