Building new social and affordable housing in Ivanhoe.

Located in the heart of Ivanhoe’s community and business centre, our Seddon Street development delivers architecturally designed homes that address an acute need for social and affordable housing in the area.

The central location of the development provides easy walking distance to all life essentials and key worker employment sites including hospitals, schools, childcare, retail and hospitality.

Our project delivers a mix of social and affordable homes for low to moderate income households.

Uniting offers support services in the area. In addition, Uniting Church Banyule Network is a vibrant community, running a social enterprise cafe, local worship and opportunities for community connection.

Our proposal

Designed by DKO architects, the development repurposes vacant land on Seddon St that was previously used for low-density housing and made available by the Uniting Church Ivanhoe congregation.

Situated between Ivanhoe Plaza and Ivanhoe train station, the site is adjacent to key amenities, including:

Project status

Uniting applied for planning permission under the provisions of Clause 53.23 of the Banyule Planning Scheme.

The project has been approved by the Department of Transport and Planning under the State’s new planning process for significant residential projects which include affordable housing.

You can find more information about the planning process and decision on the DTP Planning Register website.

Planning approval is an important milestone for the project; we will update this page as the project progresses.
